Living Arrows | Springing Forward

'You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth' Khalil Gibran.

Spring has finally sprung in our neck of the woods, hooray! My Instagram memories has been taunting me with pictures of last April, we had the pool out, we were making ice lollies and we were outside all the time. This Spring has been anti-climatic in comparison but the weather has finally turned warmer and we can finally see family and friends without needed to take the duvet with us!

The weather turned just in time for our visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, it's one of our favourite places and they've worked so hard to be as Covid secure as they can be. The customer service there is beyond compare. As the park is wheelchair accessible we finally got to meet up with great grandparents for some play time and a little picnic, it's been a year since we spent some proper time with them so that was a much needed boost for both us and them.

We also managed to fit in a trip to the local library. It's the first time it's been open since November 2019 as our town suffered devastating floods and then the Covid crisis hit. I've missed that building so much, it really is my happy place. Iris couldn't remember having been in there before which makes me so sad as we went weekly for a sing a long but that was half her life ago so it's not surprising she can't remember it. Let's hope we manage to keep the Covid at bay long enough for us to make some new memories there, though I am getting increasingly anxious about the Indian variant. Only time will tell. In related news I have my 2nd vaccination booked for Thursday, let's hope I feel as okay as I did with the first one!

    1. As a Yorkshire lass born and bred I can say with certainty that there is so much to do in this area. Definitely plan a full day out if you go to Yorkshire Wildlife Park as it is huge and just keeps being extended. Katrina x

  4. The weather has been lovely for the last week hasn't it? I keep waking up thinking it's surely going to be raining after so long but we still keep getting blue skies and sunshine every day. I'm not complaining though!

  5. Sounds like a lovely trip especially as you got to see the grandparents as well. Hope the second vaccine went well? I had my first last week and think I got off quite lightly.

Thank you for supporting me on my journey to raise awareness about mothers on the autistic spectrum. We do exist, we just need people to know we do!
