Living Arrows | Happy Mothers Day

'You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth' Khalil Gibran.

How has everybody's first week back at school been? I do hope everyone had fun and settled back in okay. Iris has been at preschool throughout the lockdown so I didn't expect things to change that much but the preschool is a lot busier now- I didn't realise quite how many of the regular children hadn't been going. It's worrying for me as it means a higher Covid risk but for Iris it's been a wonderful opportunity to make new friends.

Mother's day was tinged with a little sadness as we couldn't spend it how we wanted to but we're so very grateful that everyone is still healthy so when the restrictions are lifted we will be able to have the tea and cake that we are so desperately missing. My Mothers Day gift was a trip to an entirely gluten free tearoom called All Mine Cakes By The Lake and I got treated to the most delicious sausage sandwich, a ridiculously large cheese scone plus several types of cakes to bring home. Whilst we were collecting our order we explored the area around the tea room and found a perfect park to play on. It was such a mood boost to be somewhere different- it almost felt like a holiday (apart from the fact it was freezing!)

Wishing a Happy Mothers Day to all the lovely mummies that take part in this link up.

  2. I have a very difficult relationship with Mothers Day so it wasn't the best here. Everywhere seems so much busier now - school drop offs are crazy! x

  5. Glad to hear you had a lovely Mother's day - your afternoon tea sounds delicious. I bought my mum a voucher for afternoon tea last year and we're still waiting to use it! Hopefully we'll get a chance sometime this year :)

Thank you for supporting me on my journey to raise awareness about mothers on the autistic spectrum. We do exist, we just need people to know we do!
