This week's post is yet another one featuring our local library. I've always loved the library but since having Iris I've discovered so much more that it has to offer and i'm astounded that it's mainly free or amazingly affordable. These photos were taken at the annual
Fun Palace that tours hundreds of places across the UK.
The fun palace takes over the entirety of the library. There were rooms I never knew existed packed full of exciting activities that engaged all ages. Iris loved interacting with the people at the various stalls and I found the information on offer fascinating. Both of us had a really enjoyable time. The graffiti wall was our first stop and Iris left her tag- if you look on the top picture you can clearly see 'Iris woz ere '18'- shout out to my fellow 90s kids! A personal highlight included the free candy floss, especially the part when Iris had no idea what to do with it and chose to wave it as a flag rather than eat it! She adored the archaeological dig and spent ages wafting that sand covered paintbrush into the eyes of all who dared go near her. The bands on the stage had her boogieing away and I loved seeing some of the musical projects that are happening locally. There is so much community activity going off that we aren't aware of.
We had a fantastic time and I would absolutely recommend going along if your local area hosts a
Fun Palace- i'll be writing a full review on the blog soon as I want to do all I can to encourage people to make use of such a great initiative.
And as a nod to the impending Halloween here's Iris's first ever self portrait that she created whilst at the Fun Palace! Scary isn't it!?!

This looks amazing! I've somehow only been to our local library once in my years of parenting so I am sure I've been missing out! x
